Yeah try Jolie Holland, awsome voice....2 great albums out, the first entitled "Escondida" second entitled "Springtime Can Kill You" great stuff. Also try Yo La Tango, great band, or perhaps CatPower, another great female artist. My favorite artist of all time though would have to be Tom Waits. Anything by him is always orginal.
