Suggested Admission - The Metropolitan Museum in NYC...how "suggested" is it?

If it is some young kid at the cash register, they could care less. And just act like you don't care if anyone gives you a funny look. I still pay about $2-3 at the american museum of natural history right across the park. Try going for $5.
