Car rim compatibility?

i have a 2001 subaru impreza and my sister has a 2006 kia rio she lives in nc and i live in florida we are wanting to switch cars for the winter and i was wondering if anyone knows how i can tell if her rims would fit on my car (she has snow tires and our rim sizes are different) would the lugs be in the right place how can i find out without driving up there?
